Professional Experience
VP of Athletics, Paul Quinn College (2023-Present). In his role as VP of Athletics at Paul Quinn College, Brian Evans oversees all aspects of the college's athletic department. He provides strategic leadership for a diverse range of sports programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and promoting the overall well-being of student-athletes. Evans' tenure has been marked by significant achievements in a short period of time, including developing a website, and creating a strategic partnership with the PGA.
AS VP of Athletics at Georgetown College (Kentucky) (2005-2023) Prior to assuming the same role at Paul Quinn College. He was responsible for directing all day-to-day operations and managing 24 subordinate supervisors who supervised a total of 50-60 employees in the Athletics Department. The athletic department offers 24 teams, and 21 compete at a varsity level. In this role he was also responsible for serving on the President’s Executive Cabinet and staff support on the Board of Trustees. He was responsible for the overall budget management, strategic direction, and evaluation of this unit; and keeping the president informed to all issues within the department, conference, and national offices. Responsibilities also include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Some significant accomplishments in this role included department GPA never dropping below 3.1. They produced over 250 Academic All-Conference athletes, over 100 Academic All-Americans, over 50 All-Americans, 3 National Tournament MVPs, and two National Players of the Year Men’s Basketball. Under his leadership they had three inductees into the NAIA HOF. Over this same time the department captured over 20 Conference Championships and three National Championships.
