Bio
“Coach Charlestin is the kind of leader who transforms programs and inspires people. His resume speaks volumes, but his vision for developing young men through athletics truly sets him apart," said Dr. Michael J. Sorrell, President of Paul Quinn College. “We look forward to seeing our students thrive under his leadership—both on and off the field.”
Charlestin joins Paul Quinn after leading the women’s soccer team at LSU Shreveport to a historic run. During his tenure, he was named the 2024 Red River Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, led the team to a 2024 NAIA national tournament qualifying round appearance, and secured a 2024 regular season championship and a Red River Athletic Conference finalist finish in 2023.
He previously served as both the women’s soccer coach and interim head men's soccer coach at Briar Cliff University, where he led the women’s program to its first conference championship and three consecutive NAIA National Tournaments. He led the men’s team to its first-ever regular-season conference co-championship in only one season as interim coach.
“Clark brings a rare combination of tactical knowledge, recruiting strength, and a deep commitment to student-athlete development,” said Brian Evans, Vice President and Director of Athletics at Paul Quinn College. “We’re confident he will bring our men’s soccer program to a new level of competitiveness while embracing the values that define our institution.”
Charlestin will focus on building a championship culture rooted in the College's commitment to excellence and opportunity.
“I am incredibly excited to join Paul Quinn College and help awaken this sleeping giant. The potential for growth here is undeniable, and this is an exciting time for the athletic department and the university as a whole,” said Charlestin. “Our vision is to build a program with high standards—one that competes at the highest level, represents Paul Quinn with pride, and sets a new bar for excellence. The foundation is here, and I can't wait to get started.”
Charlestin holds a master’s degree in management and leadership from Briar Cliff University and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Grand View University. He also has multiple coaching certifications from the U.S. Soccer Federation and NAIA Champions of Character.
