Bio
Coach Patrick Gonzalez is a native of Fort Worth, Texas. He is a Texas Wesleyan University graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Criminal Justice. He also has an M.Ed. in Sports Administration from Concordia University in Austin, Texas. He has coached volleyball for over fifteen years. He has coached at the high school, club, and collegiate levels. He currentlycoaches for 360 Volleyball Club in Arlington, Texas.
Coach Gonzalez brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Paul Quinn volleyball program. Since he arrived at Paul Quinn College, the volleyball program has experienced tremendous growth. This past season, he doubled the number of conference wins, and several of his players have received All-Conference and All-American recognition. At Paul Quinn, Coach Gonzalez is the Assistant Director of Advising and Retention in the Office of Academic Affairs. He is no stranger to the HBCU world.
He worked at Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee, for five years. He was Assistant Women’s Volleyball Coach, Admissions Counselor, and Director of International Student Services. Healso worked at Howard University in Washington, DC, as the Associate Director of Minority Outreach in the Office of Admissions. He is a high-energy, passionate coach who loves competing and developing players. He is a member of the AVCA and participated in the Big XII Reach & Teach Volleyball DiversityProgram.
Here's a fun fact: Coach Gonzalez had two uncles play in the MLB.
